November 30, 2009

Some people said it’s fake but whether it’s fake or not, for me, this Macbook Wheel sucks. The reporter said that you’ll take 45 minutes in typing an e-mail with the said wheel while in keyboard, you can type an e-mail in less than 15 minutes. This thing is really funny! the Hummingbird battery? it can power your laptop for almost 20 mintues! Ridiculous! One thing, It’s much more difficult to use than the ordinary laptop. If it’s real, i recommend, do not buy it!

Dating Advice: 4 Secrets to a Spectacular Relationship

November 25, 2009

What do couples who describe their relationship as spectacular do differently than those who describe theirs as simply so-so? The differences are quite small, actually.

“When we look at happy couples, we see that great partnerships are not the result of hours of hard work,” says relationship researcher Terri L. Orbuch, Ph.D., who followed 373 couples for over 22 years as part of a marriage study funded by the National Institutes of Health. “It’s small changes in behavior and attitude that can transform your relationship.” In her new book, “5 Simple Steps to Take Your Marriage from Good to Great,” Orbuch shares the steps you can take to a spectacular relationship.

#1. Understand Each Other’s Needs

“The main reason marriages break up is not conflict, communication problems, or physical incompatibility,” Orbuch says. “It’s frustration — the day-to-day disappointment of the gap between what you expect and how your partner acts — that is most damaging.” To diffuse that frustration, share your expectations with each other. Maybe you desire more affection and he craves more relaxed couple time. “And be sure to check in with your partner once a year, as added pressures or life changes can create new expectations,” Orbuch says.

This holiday season, detoxify and recover naturally with the tips that follow.

Chinese medicine views proper digestion as the most essential component in living a long and healthy life. Your digestive function is made up of numerous organs all working together to break down, absorb, and process all of the nutrients in the food you eat. Without healthy digestion, you can become malnourished and toxins will build up in your body, leading to degenerative diseases and rapid aging down the road.

Indigestion is caused and made worse by overeating–especially rich, fatty, spicy foods, alcohol, coffee, and acidic foods. These remedies will get your digestion on the right track.

Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao Won! (7th WBO Belt)

November 15, 2009

LAS VEGAS – Manny Pacquiao staked his claim atop boxing’s mythical throne as the pound-for-pound best, using his lightning hand speed to beat and batter Miguel Cotto into submission Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_XlAN6q2wac8/SrI_KZOZNjI/AAAAAAAADwI/SZPtEBQW9p0/s400/Pacquiao-vs-Cotto-Poster.jpg

Pacquiao knocked Cotto down once in the third round and again in the fourth, pummeled him repeatedly and easily lifted the World Boxing Organization welterweight belt from the Puerto Rican with a 12th-round stoppage. The time was 55 seconds into the final round, as referee Kenny Bayless leaped between the fighters to save Cotto a more savage beating and ignominious end.

Cotto came out strong and landed some hard punches, but Cotto couldn’t deal with the speed. Pacquiao was landing three shots for every two Cotto did early. After the knockdown in the fourth, Cotto’s offense was nonexistent as he spent most of the last two thirds of the fight fending off Pacquiao’s onslaught.

Ford, as the story goes, refused to do business on Friday the 13th, and this week marks the third time this year that the 13th will fall on a Friday — the most times it can happen in one year.

It’s a day when people rearrange travel plans, delay surgery or just pull up the covers and stay in bed until Friday the 13th turns into Saturday the 14th, convinced that even stepping out of the house would cause bad luck to find them the way an anvil finds the head of Wile E. Coyote.

Dating Tips: 7 Signs He’s Serious About You

November 11, 2009
In that first month of dating, even the coolest guy can only play it so cool. If he’s serious, he’ll drop hints.
It’s hard to remember the simple things that indicate he is serious about you when you’re being courted, especially when his game is intoxicating, and he’s saying “all the right things.” So keep in mind, seriousness should not be measured by:

- The amount of money he’s spending on you

- The grandeur of dates

- The frequency of dates

- The nice things he says

During the fledgling weeks of dating, if he’s doing any of the following, there’s a chance that he’s serious:

#1. He Calls/Texts at the Right Time

It’s good when a guy texts/calls any time, any day. And subject matter should range from date ideas to insignificant things like the fact that he found a $10 bill on the sidewalk on the way to work.

Posting Pics Online? What Your Photos Say About You

November 9, 2009

And perhaps as expected, the more candid a shot the more nuances of your personality show through.

“In an age dominated by social media where personal photographs are ubiquitous, it becomes important to understand the ways personality is communicated via our appearance,” said study researcher Laura Naumann of Sonoma State University. “The appearance one portrays in his or her photographs has important implications for their professional and social life.”

RP in National Geographic’s 25 Best New Travel Destinations in the World for 2010; Ancient Cultures, Structures and Biodiversity Cited

November 8, 2009

The Philippines was named “One of 25 Best New Trips in the World in 2010” by National Geographic which cited its ancient cultures, structures and biodiversity as key reasons to visit the country.

In its November 2009 Adventure issue, the DC-based National Geographic described the Philippines as harboring “as many islands as the Caribbean and some of the most spectacular reefs on the planet”, adding that travel organizations have “finally gotten wise.”

National Geographic presented the “25 brand new adventures, all of them just right for right now.” The list is directed at “travelers who want their dollars to do more – for others, for the planet and for themselves.”

Philippine Ambassador to the United States Willy C. Gaa said the inclusion of the Philippines in the list shows the global community is “taking note of the natural and cultural wonders in the country as well as the efforts to protect and preserve them.”

According to the article, Wilderness Travel is organizing a trip to the Philippines in May 2010 which will “lead clients high into the 4,000 foot Cordillera Central then deep into the world most biodiverse marine environment.”

Wilderness Travel is a company of and for travelers whose trip members are mostly repeat travelers or referrals from past members. These include “naturalists, authors, ecologists, archeologists, art historians, teachers and mountaineers.”

The 12-day trip to the Philippines costs $3,300.

On its website www.wildernesstravel.com, the Philippines is described as a country which boasts breathtaking hikes among ancient rice terraces and scenic mountain landscapes, cultural encounters with Ifugao people, world-class snorkeling in the “Coral Triangle.”

According to Wilderness Travel, the Philippine journey explores “the emerald world of the Ifugao hilltribe people – steeped in ancient tradition- who have transformed the precipitous mountainsides of their homeland into steeply contoured rice terraces, complete with ingenious irrigation systems dating back 2,000 years.

The trip then takes travelers to Cabilao island in the Visayas to view “stunning coral reefs” that are part of the famed “Coral Triangle,” the world’s greatest concentration of marine biodiversity.

The Philippines has been promoting its cultural and natural wonders as preferred travel destinations for global tourists. The Embassy of the Philippines works closely with the National Geographic in raising awareness on the importance of sustainable development and ecological protection.

During President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s official visit to Washington D.C. in August 2009, she delivered a talk at the National Geographic Headquarters in the U.S. capital, underscoring the Government’s efforts in and urging international support for preserving, promoting and protecting biodiversity in the Coral Triangle.

The 6 Most Annoying Coworkers

November 7, 2009

A great coworker can help you look forward to going to work each day. An annoying coworker, on the other hand, can make you want to hide under the covers.

A large survey by the staffing firm Ranstad USA asked employees what their biggest office peeves were. It turns out they all involved coworkers. Annoying ones.

Do you recognize any of the top six most annoying coworker types?

The Psst-er: Gossipers were the number one pet peeve in the survey. While some people like to hear juicy tidbits about the boss or their colleagues, too much gossip can undermine the spirit of the workplace. Plus you’re always wondering when the Psst-er will make you the topic du jour.

Restaurants On A Roll

November 6, 2009

It might not be good for America’s waistline, but froufrou dining off petite plates is out. The recession has made us hungry for family-size piles of comfort food, skyscraping burgers, and all-you-can-eat fries.

Like other segments of the retail economy, the restaurant industry has struggled over the past two years as unemployment has soared and consumers have curtailed spending. The National Restaurant Association’s performance index shows that the industry has been shrinking for 23 months in a row. High-end bistros have fared the worst, with sales at fancy restaurants like Ruth’s Chris and Morton’s Steakhouse off by 20 percent or more, as corporate customers pare expenses and other diners trade down. Casual- and family-dining places have suffered too, as people eat out less, order more takeout, or cook at home. Even fast-food chains like McDonald’s and Burger King have lost business, despite dollar meals and other deals meant to keep the fryers sizzling.

Still, as in other whipsawed industries, a few survivors stand to benefit from the widespread pain. To figure out who they are, I analyzed data provided by financial research firm Capital IQ, a unit of Standard & Poor’s, to see which publicly owned restaurant companies with at least $250 million in annual sales have gained revenue and market share since the recession began near the end of 2007. Then I researched earnings reports and other sources to separate firms with strong inherent growth from those benefiting from mergers, accounting anomalies, or one-time events.

Of 41 firms on Capital IQ’s initial list, only eight made the final cut. All emphasize value, whether it’s huge portions or quality for less. And all of these companies are financially healthy, with reasonable debt and the wherewithal to keep expanding despite a credit crunch. Here are the restaurants with the right recipe for lean times:

Buffalo Wild Wings. Hot wings, zesty drinks, low prices, and a funky sports-themed atmosphere seem to draw crowds no matter how the economy’s doing. This Minneapolis-based chain with outlets in 41 states has grown rapidly over the past two years, thanks to its plan to open about 60 new restaurants per year. Same-store sales have risen slightly, with expansion juicing overall revenue by about 31 percent so far this year. Profits are up by 34 percent. And the company says the grand openings will continue.
